Yay! I got a handy planner (for $2.99!) because it was recommended for putting together a wedding in 3-4 months. We are excited and love planning a party!

Cupcake Toppers! But I'm thinking of being even thriftier and having a little get together with friends to make some of our own toppers using pretty paper (scrapbooking paper in several designs of poppies...on sale for pennies!) and toothpicks.
Invitations!

We've decided on a backyard party with friends and family to mark the occasion. I am getting really cheerful about planning. Hopefully this will be a really fun night of music, food, and visiting with all the people we care about... plus that whole making it official thing!
As usual, I am being thrifty and creative, doing most of it myself and with the help of Mr. Groom, Kids, Pets (very helpful, ha!) and friends. I am shopping for dresses and plan on rocking a magical and spunky one-of-a-kind creation.
Here are some of my other ideas...most from Etsy because I am in love with the whole handmade wonder of things. (My ring came from the wonderful Laurie Sarah, who sells through Etsy as well. Check her out!)
Candy Labels! We can get these printed with our info. Labeling 324 pieces of candy sounds like a great job for the little ladies!

Oh so many choices! Can't wait to look at more and pick out some things. Fun fun!

How exciting! I love the idea of homemade cupcake toppers!! I used Etsy a whole lot for my wedding too... enjoy the planning! It goes by superfast (we only planned for three months too)
those cupcake toppers are a really good idea. just focus on having fun and don't do anything you don't want to do. this is your special day.
we had a simpson's themed wedding and did everything super fun and on the cheap. we actually made money from our reception, which i found to be quite odd. we gave some of it to a homeless person, used some for our honeymoon to cedar point, and used the rest as earnest money for our house.
RE: Jen aka Jewbacca
Jen, is there somewhere we can see pictures of your Simpson's themed wedding?
Thanks!
Mr. Pixieine (soon to be!)
