Challenge is right! Here are the guidelines.
Drink at least 16 oz. of green smoothie per day (a quart would be even better!)
Do some sort of activity every day. This could be an intense workout, or just dancing with your kids around the living room. It could be a 15 minute yoga session or a walk around the block.
Add a green leafy salad to your lunch or supper (with light dressing…stay away from the creamier sauces).
Stop drinking pop.
Cut out all white sugar.
Ay ay ay! I dunno if I can do it...but I'm gonna try! Follow update from Happy Foody here, and follow my progress here at Pixiepine!
Addendum: I read some comments and added a few more thoughts :)
My biggest challenges will be:
*sugar in my coffee (I could go straight soy milk, but is there refined sugar in that? Eeek!)
*hidden refined sugars/HFCS in sauces and stuff, and ahem...my Bloody Mary mix...hehehe
*Dr. Pepper (don't have it all the time, but looooove it!)
The smoothies shouldn't be too tough, besides washing the blender every day and getting up in time to make them. I generally use frozen fruit and a greens powder, which is a little bit cheating, but gets the green job done and is fairly inexpensive. I like a fresh spinach smoothie when I have fresh greens on hand.
Salad with meals is an easy one I already do, and I love making my own dressing.
Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions!

Good luck! I try to do these things each day as well : )
You can do it! I don't know if you drink soda now, but I gave it up a couple years ago...hardest thing I've ever done. I was kind of addicted to Diet Coke. But I feel much better now without all those funky chemicals.
White sugar is easy cause you can just use evap. cane juice or turbinado...except when you eat vegan desserts in restaurants or something. I make exceptions for that.
Activity every day would be difficult for me...but if walking around the block counts, that'd be fine.
The smoothie part sounds the hardest. I love green smoothies, but everyday sounds expensive!
Good luck!
good luck! i know i couldn't do it now, but it doesn't mean i couldn't do it later, after cookie gets here.
This is a great idea!
Let's see, I usually drink a green juice or green smoothie every day, or every other day, I don't drink soda at all, I work out like a fiend, and the white sugar....well, I try to keep it to a minimum! :-D
That's awesome, Leslie. I have a green smoothie a few times a week. I use thawed frozen spinach. It's not completely raw, but it's much cheaper, more concentrated, and still super healthy. Good luck with it!
