Vintage Digs

I am just obsessed with vintage kitchens! I was perusing blogs a while back and came across a post on the kitchen from Mad Men. I couldn't believe how much it looked like the kitchen in my house. We definitely have that 1950's wood thing going on.
I don't ever wanna gut and start over with this kitchen. I think that giving the granite-and-steel treatment to a perfectly great vintage kitchen is a travesty!

I would like to go back in time with a remodel though. Check out these awesome vintage kitchens! I love this picture because of that crazy combo of blue, pink, and wood. The crazy old school tile floor, which is kind ugly on it's own, fits perfectly in this style. That lady looks pleased about her big empty fridge.

Love this one, with the checkered wall and cool little rounded counter. I want a serving cart like that!

Space age 1950's style! I love this!!!A little workstation is such a neat idea.
Here's a shiny and room kitchen, complete with teevee!
And finally, a great take on vintage done these days.
Cheers!

Personally, I've always wanted black and white checkered kitchen floors... to me its the epitome of flashy vintage class. *Sigh* Someday!

Love the pics!

That would be fun to have a vintage kitchen. Love black and white floors. I talked my girlfriend into putting it in her bathroom. Her husband actually liked it.

I love the little workstation too! I need that in MY kitchen! I the love vintage but I like modern appliances! Like my grandma's oven didn't heat the same all the way around. When we use to bake cookies we had to turn and rotate the cookies sheet 10 times during the baking process! :D

Yup, I call my old oven the devil oven. I can heat it to 200 on the dial and it will go up to 500 all by itself! It takes a lot of tending to bake something properly!
