I think cutting down my salt is probably THE biggest factor (ok the weight loss is pretty big too!) in the changes in my body thus far from following Eat To Live. No more weird fluctutaions- my tummy stays fairly flat all the time...unless I eat something salty. The effects of a big salty meal are so much more pronounced now that I eat much less of the stuff. When do I have salt, I feel thirsty, puffy, sluggish, and weird!
I am still working on salt-alternatives. Even low-sodium stuff seems to be better. I use low sodium soy sauce and need much less than I used to. I have been using salt-free Tony's Chachere and Mrs. Dash. I don't love the Ms. Dash, but it will do. The Tony's is great.I also cook foods in salt-free veg broth, which cuts down on salt and oil. Yay!
