I've cooked a few meals recently out of Yellow Rose Recipes. It's a good vegan cookbook with a lot of great basics, especially the section on making homemade versions of expensive vegan treats like sour cream, "parmesan" cheese, and so on.
Here we have: Sloppy Joannas!
Mine looks kinda like the picture in the cookbook- yay! This recipe is super easy and cheap- great combo. It would make a great base for tacos, vegan "meat" sauce, and so on too with just some tweaks of the seasoning. (Adios, expensive meat crumbles! Viva la TVP!!) We ate them on Ezekiel Sprouted Grain buns (SO delicious!!!).
Happy eating!

Yum! I can't believe I still don't have Yellow Rose Recipes! I want that bowl of corn right now ... for some reason, I'm craving corn.
Wow, those look pretty good! I've been meaning to try the Snobby Joes from "Veganomicon," which are made out of lentils!
