Sushi Pride!!

Life's bussssyy! I decided to break my coffee all day/wine all night cycle with a lovely homemade meal ;P

For just $3 in extra grocery supplies, I managed to make sushi and homemade miso soup. Score!!!!

I watched an About.com video on veggie sushi just to refresh my mind. Here's my cucumber and avocado effort. I don't have a bamboo mat or anything...just kinda roll it till it sticks!

My miso soup recipe came from one of Sarah Kramer's cookbooks but I can't remember which one. It was deelicious and made a nice thermos lunch the next day.

The accoutrements...I made a heart-shaped pile of wasabi using my Sushi Sonic Wasabi Powder.

And because I never think to photograph post-meal...the aftermath!! Empty dishes, happy bellies!!

Yaaay! I love making my own sushi. Your miso soup looks lovely; are those peas inside?

I haven't made sushi in a long, long time! But it's so much fun. I always reserve sushi-makin' for parties and special occasions, but I really ought to make some for dinner one night!

BTW, I tried the SK butter tarts. Delish! I'm posting about them tonight.

Thanks for your comment! I noticed you said you're a July baby, too. When's your birthday? If I missed it Happy Belated!

Thanks for the nice comments, ya'll :)

Dianne- those are indeed peas. The recipe is flexible and I used shredded carrots and green peas. I like the traditional ingredients too though!

Bianca- yum on the butter tarts! Can't wait to see your post.
