We recently had a girls' night at my house! We played the Game of Life (somehow generating 12 of those peg-baby children between the 3 of us playing!) and baked. It was a cozy night and we decided to give this Duncan Hines mix a try, along with some Comstock-Wilderness Apple Pie Filling. I picked these out using coupons provided by the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program and socked them away in the pantry for a night just like this! The Apple Caramel Cake mix was easy to use and the kids did all the measuring and stirring.
The cake baking, topped with the caramel mixture....
Enthusiastic bakers!
When the cakes (2 8" layers) came out, we used the Comstock apple pie filling as a middle layer, then stacked the cakes.
Smelling good!
We surprised the mister with a little candlelight late-night cake party, wherein (quite unusually!) sweet treats were consumed and (not so unusually) we all gabbed about stuff!
Very fun night, and the Duncan Hines mix made for a fun project for the kiddos. Girls' night in, success!

I'm reposting the homemade deodorant chronicles...that's one topic that has been wonderful!
