Plant-Strong Disaster...Salvaged!

Here lies Smashed Pepper Peas...rest in peas. 

Ack....I'll start this post off on a positive note: I did turn a flop into a tasty miso soup, so all is well. 


Now back to the beginning. The recipe on Fat Free Vegan sounded tasty, tho I did think twice about TWO TABLESPOONS of horseradish...I threw it in anyway and my eyes started watering just stirring the pan. I pureed the mix and tasted it. PAIN! ACK! I actually love strong flavors, but this was just too much. Bitter and...horseradishy! 


I thought sharp and went to my go-to when I hate a sauce- rinse the whole she-bang in a sieve and start over!


I made a nice miso broth and added the peas for a kind of wasabi-ish taste. It turned out quite nice with my kale salad and steamed veg. Day saved!!!

It's always nice to save a meal that started off as a disaster. Sometimes it ends up better than the original recipe anyways!

So glad you saved it. I once ruined a huge pot of soup with way too much jalapeno.
