Favorite Workout!

I've added a new workout to my arsenal. I tried a segment of Workout One-On-One Training with Jackie on Exercise TV and I was hooked. Now I have the whole workout on DVD!


Love this DVD! It's mostly strength with a bit of cardio mixed in. The great thing about the DVD is that you can customize a workout by choosing which circuits you want to include each time you do the DVD. I am super sore today and I know from previous experiences with this workout, if you stick with it, you see results quickly! Yay!

Super Meatalicious Vegan Pizza!


I never was much of a meat fan (haven't had in a decade or so) but, boy, I love veggie meats! I love the weird plastic ones all the way to the creepily realistic ones. 


Today I made spicy sausages from Happy Herbivore. They were easy like the sausages in Vegan Brunch and turned out quite tasty.

We made pizza on Flat Out bread using the sausage and some Yves pepperoni. So tasty! As always, a nice salad was on the side :)

MyFitnessPal works if I do!! ♥


Fitness update:

I started back using MyFitnessPal on June 13th. July 10th marks 7 pounds gone, even with a torn muscle, a glass of wine more days than not, and chocolate covered almonds! Yay! It takes attention and 100% dedication for this little program to work, but it's so worth it to start seeing goals happening! Onward to my overall goal! (And back to serious strength and cardio when my calf muscle is ready. Till then, it's swimming, upper body, and a little yoga!).

Skin Loving Smoothie

It's definitely summer here! We are officially into the three digit temperature season! For me, that means more smoothies and cold stuff. I spent this morning researching on Angel Quintana's holistic living site, House of Vitalia.  She has so much terrific info posted, and the recipe section is great! 

Today I made the Skin Loving Smoothie, full of blueberries, pomegranate, raw tahini, and more. I also added some vegan magic with protein powder, green powder, and probiotic powder :)

I adjusted the recipe a bit from the original, changes as follows. 


Skin Loving Smoothie

Serves 1

1/2 medium organic banana (frozen)
3/4 cup pomegranate juice
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
3 teaspoons raw tahini
1/2 cup organic blueberries (frozen)
5 ice cubes
1/2 t probiotic powder
1 t Amazing Grass greens powder
1 t vegan vanilla protein powder

Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
